Dyverse came across a wonderful non-profit organization called Lizzie Bee. The organization develops and promotes art workshops by bringing art, artist and community together. They believe that art and making art can trigger change and everyone should have access to art projects that are meaningful. Lizzie Bee most recent art project was partnering with The Nesbitt Centre to showcase two talented Nesbitt’s students. Jim Ronn and Greig Carruthers worked closely with three year 13 students at Chinese International School. Kolleen Ku, Joanna Fu and Peijing Chung share the love for art and they believe that painting is a powerful tool for communication. Detailed of The Nesbitt Centre Art Project : www.lizziebee.org/the-nesbitt-centre-art-project.html They currently have 3 on going workshops: Ask me, I know topic is about self-awareness, which ask primary school students about their opinions on what they like to change in the world? It is about asking what the future holds for them and using art to express those feelings of their aspirations, hopes and fears. Green Fingered topic is about environment, which ask primary school students about environmental issues related to health and food. This interlinked relationships trigger a bigger picture of sustainability and environmental responsibility. Students will learn about where vegetables come from, how to grow vegetables and make gardening tools. My School, My Hong Kong, My World topic is about social engagement, which ask primary school students what is their place is in the growing community local to global. How do they belong from exploring the microcosmic point of view to a global point of view. Using mixed media to explore those ideas. All workshops can be delivered in Cantonese or English. Please contact Lizzie Bee for details and fees : www.lizziebee.org
